Robertson Long Balls Aide Regals in Sweep

Talia Ferrari broke her own school strikeout record with 12 in a game and Emily Robertson hit two home runs as the Cal Lutheran softball team picked up a pair of non-conference wins against Concordia-Chicago at home on Sunday. The Regals won 3-0 in the first game and took a 10-2 victory in a run-ruled second game.

Softball Kept Quiet by Athenas

The offense of the Cal Lutheran softball team was held in check on Saturday in a pair of home losses to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. The Athenas took the first game 8-0 and followed with a 6-0 victory in game two.

Long Ball Salvages Split with Chapman

Emily Robertson and Geri Jensen both homered in Saturday's opening game before Lizzie Novak's walk-off single defeated Chapman, 6-5. The win snapped a four-game skid before the Panthers won game two by an 8-5 margin.

Regals Fall in SCIAC Opener at Redlands

In its first conference action of the young season, the Cal Lutheran softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader at the University of Redlands on Saturday. The Bulldogs jumped out to early leads in the first inning of both games and were able to hold of the Regals 4-1 and 7-5.

Softball Dealt Pair of Losses by Concordia

The Cal Lutheran softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader with Concordia-Irvine on a wet Tuesday afternoon at Hutton Field. CUI won a rain-filled game one 7-1 and followed with a 5-3 victory in the final tune-up for the Regals before conference play begins Saturday at Redlands.

Multiple Spring Teams Reschedule Weekend Contests Due to Rain

The Cal Lutheran men's tennis, women's tennis and softball teams have all postponed their respective scheduled matches that were originally taking place this weekend due to the recent rainfall in the city of Thousand Oaks. The Kingsmen tennis teams announcement came early Saturday morning as their match with Chapman will take place on Sunday, Feb. 21.

Softball off to Strong Start in Season Opener

The Cal Lutheran softball squad opened up its 2010 campaign sweeping a Sunday doubleheader with La Sierra by 15-2 and 9-1 scores. Lizzy Chacón was the winning pitcher in the CLU season opener for the fourth straight year while teammate Talia Ferrari set a school record with 11 strikeouts in game two.

Weekend Brings Official Start to Spring Sports

The Cal Lutheran women's tennis team will travel to Occidental College on Saturday morning initiating the 2010 spring sports schedule. The CLU baseball and softball teams will provide the first home spring contests with both hosting Sunday doubleheaders against La Sierra at 11 a.m. and Noon, respectively.
