The 29th annual Sparky
Anderson/California Lutheran University baseball golf tournament will be held
on Monday, Oct. 27 at the Moorpark Country Club. The event will include a Texas
scramble style tournament, social hour and silent auction, as well as dinner
and an awards presentation.

Paul Hartmann and David Iden from the California Lutheran
University baseball team were both selected to the 2008 All-SCIAC Team.
Hartmann, a sophomore, was selected to the first team while Iden, a junior, was
named to the second team.

The California Lutheran University baseball team completed a three-game weekend sweep of Whittier College on the road Saturday afternoon winning a pair of games by 6-4 and 15-2 margins. CLU extends its SCIAC win streak to nine games following three-game sweeps of Caltech, Pomona-Pitzer and now Whittier.

The California Lutheran University baseball team picked up its seventh straight win with a 9-7 win over Whittier at home on Friday. In their final home game as a Kingsmen, the four CLU seniors combined for six of the nine RBI.

Excitement and suspense were two emotions that the California Lutheran University baseball team enjoyed on the road Saturday afternoon as the Kingsmen earned 7-6 and 17-9 wins over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. The CLU offense came alive with 37 runs and 47 hits in the two-day series sweep.

The California Lutheran University baseball team produced nine runs in the eighth inning to break a tie and lift them to a 13-8 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Friday at home. Sophomore Paul Hartmann led the attack as he hit for the cycle and tallied three RBI and four runs scored.

The California Lutheran University baseball team picked up a pair of wins with scores of 12-0 and 15-1 over Caltech at home on Saturday. With the victory in game one, head coach Marty Slimak reached 400 wins in his career at CLU.

The California Lutheran University baseball team dropped both games of its Saturday home doubleheader to CSU East Bay by 5-2 and 13-5 margins, respectively. The Kingsmen held two-run leads in both games but the Pioneer bats sparked comebacks against the CLU bullpen.
